Go where the African Bushman went.
Join us on a real fun and informative overland trip from Cape Town to the West Coast and Cederberg. The Cederberg has lots of Bushman rock art and breathtaking scenery. Hiking, swimming in rock pools, wine tasting, checking out caves and finding San Bushman rock art is all part of the fun.

Itinerary of our 5 day trip Starting Cape Town Mondays ending Cape Town Fridays
This trip can be extended on group request.
We start our 5-day trip from Cape Town and head up the Route 27, West Coast Road. We visit the Grootepost wine farm for a taste of good Western Cape wine. Next stop is The Beach Camp in Cape Columbine Nature Reserve, the furthest westerly destination in the Western Cape. From The Beach Camp we can do a tour of the Cape Columbine light house, hike along the coast or just laze on the beach and soak up some sun until the evening campfire and real good seafood.
Day two can be started with an optional guided sea kayaking tour and after breakfast we head further north to the Cederberg. We will stay at Gecko Backpackers and explore the central Cederberg from here.
Some good hiking and swimming can be done here. Amazing rock formations, San art and caves makes this a real interesting area.
On day three we head for the northern Cederberg over the Pakhius pass where we will do a hike to Zimri's shelter where the most amazing San rock art can be seen. After this hike we will go to Mertenhof in the Biedouw Valley where we will spend the night.
Day four and Wuperthal is just over the next mountain. In Wuperthal we visit the famous shoe factory where you can buy a real good pair of "velskoen". After this we head up the mountain to Eselbank where a few people lived in isolation for so long they don't even know what tequila is. Then the long trek south to Ceres and The Farm Backpackers in the lush green orchards next to the Breede river.
Day five and we are heading to "bum slide rock" or an optional abseil or just good old wine tasting at some of the worlds best cellars. In winter snow skiing and snowboarding can be done here. We then travel over one of the most scenic mountain passes in South Africa, back to civilization, Cape Town.
Transport in our air conditioned vehicle, all meals and Backpacker accommodation included!!
